Re: What have you just done with your S Type.
Thanks, Dave. How is your repaint coming on. Any photos you'd like to share with us?

Cheers!Orlando St.R wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2019 12:50 pm I can see why you haven't been on the forum much lately, Stan! You have been busy. Nice images and a great job on those wheels.
BTW, Stan, next Thursday, 6 June, there is the 20-49 meeting at Barrowden, if you fancy a trip out.
Had a right mare today though. Fitted the new HT leads (7mm copper core) with new plug caps....only to find a misfire under load.

It was noticeable that the copper core in the new leads is significantly smaller in diameter than the OEM leads. Progress, eh?
So hopefully I'll be at Ryton tomorrow.

I might have gone to Barrowden next week, but for a prior engagement that day. Have fun!

What a pain - and that's not the work of a moment, either. Are you still on the original distributor and points? If so, you might have a duff plug cap.
If you've gone electronic, most suppliers of these devices say they prefer silicone leads.
Hope we'll see you tomorrow, then.

6 new Champion WCX600 plug caps received and me, with my cynical head on, thought I'd test them before fitting.
5 spot on the 10 kilohm resistance....and the 6th open circuit.

Replaced FOC, of course, but......remember when Champion was a name to be trusted? Gone the way of all modern crap produced to a price-point, I fear.
And as for Lucas....the original Prince of Darkness looks pretty reliable from this vantage point.
I'm on Pertronix BTW.
See you in the morning!
