Happy birthdays guys.

Thanks Glyn for the words of wisdom as the stuff I drained out of the engine was a strange brown colour 🍻

Good to see another Golden Sand car like mine on the road....mine in Snowdonia, October 2017:

A few jobs going on..... :)

The insides of all four roadwheels were scabby along with some surface rust on the outside rims so, as I needed new tyres, I finally got round to painting them.

Also fitting new door seals. Talking to Nigel, the A & C posts can be done without the doors coming off....which I like the sound of. :D
I've fitted all bar these, and had a couple of dry runs at sliding the others into place. I'll leave as is until this Saturday's over, as once I do fit them I want to close the door on them and leave the Sikaflex to cure for two or three days.

I was out in the car on Friday, and quite suddenly found I was running on 5 cylinders. Found the fault to be one of the Champion plug caps, the screw-on lead connector had separated from the plug cap. So today I've made a complete new set of HT leads and plug caps. Treating her to a new dizzy cap and rotor as well, as I've got an 800-mile road trip to Cornwall and Wales coming up at the end of June.

All good fun!

You've done a great job on those wheels Stan. I'm off to Cornwall later this summer with the family unfortunately not with the S Type as I need the seven seater VW.

I used to live in Cornwall on Bodmin moor. The highest village in Cornwall called Minions.

By the way that is not my house in the background but an old steam engine pumping house.
You will all be passing my place in Torquay to get down to Cornwall!

I can see why you haven't been on the forum much lately, Stan! You have been busy. Nice images and a great job on those wheels.

BTW, Stan, next Thursday, 6 June, there is the 20-49 meeting at Barrowden, if you fancy a trip out.

Rob, that looks an amazing place to live!

Rob, that looks an amazing place to live!

It certainly was. Right in the middle of the moors. I was in to horses and used to ride out from the field by the side of the house across the moor. I was also a fell runner so in my element as I could train in my own back yard. I bit bleak when it snowed or rained but in all a brilliant spot to live.
