Rear boot plinth seal.

Post by jonesdl »

The S Type re-spray has almost come to an end and the various lights etc are going back on to bring the car home ready for transfer to have a new Webasto roof fitted.
A question that has come up is the rear boot plinth seal, as the seal is very long supplied by David Manners, does it just fit around the top and curved sides only or is it cut and also goes along the bottom.
The guy that removed the plinth is away on holiday hence the question.
Still a lot of work to finish when it comes home, chrome to be fitted etc, interior to go back in etc but it will be easier working at home I have hated the car being away for so long seems like a lifetime.

Dave the plinth top seal only fits along the top of the plinth & down the sides. Ending where the vertical chrome strips abutt the plinth. The entire assembly then mounts on two internal moulded foam fillers that are unobtainable. I found a pair in reasonable condition.

Example of deteriorated foam pieces.
