LHD speedo cable routing

Any LHD S Type owners on the forum? If so would like to know the routing of your speedo cable. After an engine out overhaul I am not sure my cable is routed the same as before. It goes forward from the angle drive at the overdrive then over the bellhousing, thourh a clip under the heater valve and makes a 180 turn around the power steering reservoir to point toward the engine compartment bulkhead and into the inside of the car. Is that correct or should it go under the gearbox and up toward the power steering reservoir? I want to have the least bends in it as possible.
