I believe that you are correct. They call it a sealing pad not a seal. I have the old one. It is torn in places and should be able to repair. Have not taken the other off yet. Let me see what the other one looks like. Thanks for the help. It may take me a few days. Cold front moved in. I am in the process of degreasing, etching, and sealing the tanks.

Was able to restore the old rubbers and make them both usable. They should be fine. Got the tanks finished and the fuel sender copper connections working. Now onto the brake servo.....

Joe I think I have most of those parts for you. It's getting dark now but I will go in to my boxes of many parts tomorrow and have a look for you. Pretty certain though.

Joe ~ does your car still have the small brake servo with remote air cleaner? Most 65's would have the large servo. (no remote air filter)

Mine is the late version.....no air filter?????!!!!!! Confused. Do you have a reference on how the late version is installed? Plate 60 in parts manual references new and old version but shows the air filter. Plate 59 in parts manual shows tank, but not how it connects to servo.

Correct ~ Large later brake servo has no remote air cleaner. I don't have decent pictures but will do my best.

Booster mounts into the front wing. Large removable dimple/cowl screws into wheelarch. Booster/servo has 3 mounting studs on it's round base which bolts to this cover. The cylinder of the booster then mounts to the inner wheelarch with a clamp. All are rubber mounted via grommets.


Position in engine compartment.

Thanks Glyn. Perfect. Hopefully Rob has the clamp assembly, banjo, and banjo bolt for me. SNG and nobody else has it.

With regards to mounting the vacuum unit, does it mount on grommets at the rear three bolts as well?

This is the best picture I have of the back of my Servo during my strip down five years ago. The three bolts on the back as I recall were just hard bolted to the protection plate. No grommets as I remember.
