Silencers/Mufflers
Re: Silencers/Mufflers
Joe, that steel hanger did not come with my Bell system, only the 2 rubber "donuts" / "onions". In my car the steel brackets were fine being a California car, a little surface rusty, I had them blasted, primed, and painted.
I wanted them chromed but I was anxious to finish.
If you are going to reproduce them, make a dozen of them. You can sell them.
The picture below shows the mounting rubbers and Seals I got with the Bell system. The "U" Clamps are not shown because I was not going to use them.

Re: Silencers/Mufflers
so the Bell exhaust system now comes with Band clamps? When I bought my exhaust system in 2005 from SNG it came with "U" shaped (muffler shop variety) clamps.
even though they are Stainless steel, they are "U" clamps, which crimp the pipes when tightened making it impossible to separate exhaust parts later. So I did not use them and instead ordered separate Band clamps from a racing outfit.
Good to know Bell and SNG got together on this and fixed it.

The exhaust & mounting kit is now sold separately. You can still get the cheap & nasty mounting kit that messes up everything. I used the SS band kit.
I originally had a Falcon SS system that I let go to a friend. Those were the days that Falcon & Langford were the main SS exhaust suppliers. The quality was better than Bell.

Re: Silencers/Mufflers
Yes, Glyn...that is my kit. But, the kit does not match the assembly required to install the Bell system. Two items are missing to complete the installation. I complained to SNG that if you sell a kit, either provide everything needed to do the installation or tell the customer that parts are missing and the kit is incomplete.

Re: Silencers/Mufflers
You are absolutely correct Joe. It could be argued that bracket 17 should also be in the kit that I had to manufacture, Anyway we made beautiful bracket 17's
