I agree with Cass, the long ones are not clamps but "joiners".

when I rebuilt fhe exhaust system in my XJ-6, there was a business in Michigan who sold new old stock British Leyland parts. I got my two rear XJ-6 silencers from them and they supplied me with Rolls Royce exhaust system Band clamps which look a lot like the second picture that Joe posted. Superb quality and the finish was incredible, so was the price at $24.00 each and I needed 6. But I purchased them and those are what the system has since 2003.

however, the pipes of the XJ-6 are wider than the S type exhaust pipes, 1/4" inch wider if I remember, so a heavier duty clamp was needed.

Ordered the Bell System today from SNG. They added the accessory kit for free, got the 10% Jag Forum discount, and free shipping. Not bad. Ordered the Permatex from Amazon. Thanks everyone.

I have been very happy with the Bell system I fitted to my car. Fit & finish is good. They are not quite as solid as the old Langford SS exhausts but get the job done. I strongly recommend you fit the exhaust dry. You don't need any exhaust sealants on these if you use the proper stainless band clamps.

Joe,
I see now. But when I purchased my Bell system from SNG, that "kit" was included, except the clamps were the "U" clamps which I didn't use.

This is the standard cheap & nasty fitment kit. They are rubbish, damage the pipes, don't clamp evenly, & rust up solid requiring removal with a cutting torch. Not recommended.

yes, those U clamps damage the pipes by crimping them together making it impossible to separate them if needed. Jaguar never used U clamps at the factory.

in the US, muffler shops use them for convenience and speed. Cheep cheep!

As you can see, the kit is $63.xx now. But, SNG included it in my sale. The biggest savings was in the free shipping. Just received the kit. As advertised. The Bell system was not received. Looks like Monday.
