Re: 1963 3.8S Restomod
Any good wheel or performance car shop will have the measuring tool to find out what is the maximum offset you can fit and clear your brakes, etc. I changed the front to QA1 coil overss and my wheels are 17”x8.5” with 245 wide tires on front and back

Re: Brake fluid
Yes I have been looking into some options for bigger calipers and larger truly vented rotors. Doug from the Jaguar Forums gave me this referral, http://www.bgdevelopments.co.uk/ and I have sent them an email and awaiting a reply. Doug said he purchased their AP Racing larger 4 piston calipers with v...

Re: Brake fluid
Dot 4 Brake fluid is ideal for our S Types. They are polyglycol & polyglycol ether based. Brake fluid is hygroscopic & thus should be flushed approx every 2 years. Exotic brake fluids are not necessary & can give one elastomer compatibility issues. That is a neat little device Orlando s...

Anyone seen a 3.8s brakes converted to dual master cylinder?
I was wondering if anyone has seen any 3.8s upgraded to a dual master brake setup? I have upgraded the front brakes to the Wilwood kit and the rears to later model larger in-board brakes but still would like more braking power. I have inquired to a place in the UK about an AP Racing front caliper se...

Re: 1963 3.8S Restomod
The Stebel horns are nice I have them on two of my sports cars. The cool thing with the Wolo Orient Express 844 train horn is that it is designed to be very efficient since it was sold as a kit using the same direct drive compressor like what you are using with the Stebel. While that is not bad, the...

Re: 1963 3.8S Restomod
Here are some updates to the car. I upgraded the gas tank to an aluminum one with the correct Jaguar sending unit as the previous Mustang gas tank would never read the right gas level. Since that involved a lot of rear end disassembly, I was able to get another 3.8s rear end cage and related parts ...

Re: How you can customize the suspension for performance
And worth it These modifications enable the car to have fully adjustable coil over shocks front and back, fit 245 wide tires, and handle the 400+ HP now delivered to the back tires. The car is smooth, with a comfortable ride, yet able to be driven hard, track well and the handling is great!

Re: 1963 3.8S Restomod
I stripped the complete interior out as I first coated the inside floor boards, sheet metal between trunk, with sound deadening paint, and Dynamat. Yes the headliner was removed and a new one installed. I had them do the entire interior which included reskinning the Vanden Plas front/rear seats, new...

Vaden Plas interior into a 3.8s
Pictures of a complete Jaguar Vaden Plas interior installed in my 3.8s. The rear seats were sectioned about a foot to fit. These seats are full leather, electronically controlled and have the picnic trays behind the front seats. These are so much more comfortable with full head rests which was a mus...

How you can customize the suspension for performance
Here are pictures of how I upgraded the suspension to full adjustable coil overs with adjustable shocks, custom front lower A-arms, and custom offset wheels that are 17 x 8.5" with 245 wide tires on all four corners. The wheels do not rub and now the car can handle the curves much faster than s...
