Hello Everyone!
I am a 28 year old classic Jaguar enthusiast, and here is my new-to-me 1965 3.8 S, chassis P1B77802BW.
I recently had the rear brakes gone through, and a new alloy radiator and electric cooling fan installed to combat the Los Angeles heat.
I'll definitely ask plenty of questions while I get acquainted with my new Jag, I spent 9 years with a Triumph Spitfire and Herald so a Jag is a new experience for me :D Cheers!

Welcome. Wonderful car. I believe that to be the car that was on Wayne Carini's "Chasing Classic Cars" ~ Jaguars at Greenwich episode.

Thank you Glyn! Yes, this is the very same car, I actually caught that episode by accident a few days after I bought the car. You can imagine the pleasant surprise when I saw the same car on the show!
The car just needs a bit of cosmetic work and tuning to be perfect, but other than that it has been a great car to drive...a big improvement over the Triumphs I had been used to.

Welcome to the forum Cody.
As Glyn said a very nice looking car and as it is an LA car no rust I would assume.
Any assistance or advice you want just ask and we will do our best to help.

Yes, nice car! Love the vintage retro-fit air-con. :)

Also, nice to have that TV coverage with Wayne. It all adds to the provenance.

That is a lovely looking S Type Cody a warm welcome to you. I have never seen that episode of "chasing classic cars" with an S Type in I must look out for it that will be a nice talking point in future for you. This is the place for S Type knowledge any questions can normally be resolved fairly quickly.

Many thanks for the photo's of the S Type, your fourth one showing the dash heater controls has reminded me to put a wanted ad in for a heater and vent control lever knob BD 25857
Kind regards
Dave J

Thank you all so much for your warm welcomes and support for a young Jag enthusiast! :D Sorry I haven't been here in a while, the car actually spent three months at the mechanic due to a power steering leak (typical) and leaking transmission. They ended up rebuilding the transmission, everything shifts great now. Still have some leaks from the power steering system, but it still works great. Next projects are to adjust the timing and carburetors (as I have an engine run-on condition at shutdown and the carbs occasionally overflow out the vent tubes), replace some old cooling hoses, and get the A/C converted to R134a. I'll keep you all posted on my progress!

That Blaupunkt FM/AM/Marine band radio is the exact same one that came my 1965 3.8S from new. Probably installed by the dealer or distributor in the San Francisco Bay Area. Lovely looking car by the way. Keep in mind you may loose some cooling efficiency when converting to R134, at least that was my experience with my 1990 XJ6.
