Brake servo
Hi, anyone has got an idea about how the power brake unit is to be mounted? It has got 3 studs at the rear.

The Servo bolts/mounts into it's nacelle with the three studs (see parts manual for grommets, nuts, washers etc) and the servo cylinder is attached to the inner wheel arch with the bracket arrangement I show below.

A pleasure. BTW ~ ignore the inverted steering column UJ & CV joint for aftermarket rack & pinion steering.

Anyone ever overhauled the servo system including vacuum and hydraulic? Apparently the hydraulic cylinder can not be removed from servo. Am I right?

It all comes apart but it's a crap job. Let somebody else do it for you. SNG Barratt offers an exchange program. That's what I did. They do a great job. Looks brand new. There are some new aftermarket boosters that will fit & save you some money. All require relatively slight modification to mount & changes to pipework. I don't know how fussy you are about originality.

Given my human nature, I am I am totally imperfect, but I try to stick to originality the best I can. With regards to fitting it back I think that I am missing some kind of bracket for the booster to be mounted on from behind. As for the hydraulic washers, it seems the kit can be replaced from the front side. Am I correct?

Yes there is a bracket/covering cowl in the inner wheelarch that I have not captured adequately on any photo unfortunately. I will keep looking but this is the best I can do for now. Some of these pictures are Mk2 with different booster stud mounting but give you the idea.
You can't really service the hydraulics from one end of the cylinder. You can try but you will never get seal 34 & it's surrounding bits out. Also the cylinder bore needs to be inspected for corrosion & pitting & ideally given a light hone if OK.
This is all the mounting paraphernalia. Ignore chassis numbers. This remains correct for a 3 stud booster.

Right, so it bolts onto the cover from behind the wheel. That's why I could not figure it out, because the cover is still at the paint shop!

Right ~ you got it. Earlier small servo was rim mounted to the cowl as you can see in some of these pics. Later larger servo like you & I have has 3 centre mounting studs into the cowl.
