We have discussed this part C19704 at length on the forum. This is a link to the correct page for the discussion we have already had which is in the Archive section.
http://www.jagstyperegister.com/forum/v ... f=18&t=348 Recently Jose found a NOS item which can be found here.

If this is the part you are talking about they are no longer available as they were only made for the S Type and possibly the Daimler DS420 and Jaguar 420 and have not been replicated as there is not a great big market for them. All S type owners are after a new old stock one as Jose has found. The alternative now is to contact SNG Barrett and they will sell you an XJ6 version of the vacuum switch which has been altered to run in the correct manner to the S Type. I have one of these fitted to my car as I have been through several second hand items I have found on Jaguars that had been scrapped but they all suffer the same way.
If this is not the part you are after please show a photo or a part number and we will try and assist.

In the past I have used a 1965 Ford Galaxy heater valve. They are cheap and do the job perfectly.
the heater valve you need for the S type must be NORMALLY CLOSED / OPENS WITH VACUUM.
it must have 5/8" inch inlet and outlet Ports.
it must have a 1/8" inch Vacuum hose Port.
Any heater valve with those specifications will do the job. It does not have to be a Jaguar part.
search eBay. The original factory part is no longer available.

good luck finding a good original one. It is possible those were used in the MK-X but it is speculation and unconfirmed.

Cass, the XJ-6 series 1 Heater Valve is also NORMALLY CLOSED-OPENS WITH VACUUM. No alteration is needed except for adapting the 1/8" vacuum hose to the 1/16" vacuum port with a reducer adapter.
However, the XJ-6 valve is a lot more expensive part and it is not neccessary to spend that much when uou can get cheaper heater valves for around $45.00 US.
I remember sending one of the Ford Galaxy valves to an S type owner in The Netherlands years ago.

Dear Jose
Founded fm SNG Barrat
Gbp 45 plus shiping charges, fm UK to Italy abt gbp 20, no customs and duties
Abt the speculation..... In Italy the classic cars are a must and guys are ready to spent a lot of monay.
One example, the price for one tyre of my XJ40 is abt usd 450, and you cant image the price for fuel......usd 2 per liter, not galon....
