Replacement flexible fuel hoses

Hi! Having rebuilt both fuel pumps and fixed a leak in one tank I think it is sensible to replace the flexible fuel hoses. The picture below just about shows the one from the tank to the pump and the one out of the pump (both stained brown with use). The short one from the tank has a tapered rubber olive/seal and the hose itself is an unusual size (~1/4” ID and weirdly ~10mm OD). None of the classic Jaguar parts suppliers stock them any more. Has anyone else replaced them? If so, what with?

You are about to go to E10 so use black rubber fuel hose. This is what happens using E10/E12 on the original nylon line new. Strangely not on old used stuff.

I used Cohline high spec rubber fuel hose in 7.5mm ID version: https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/hi ... -2240-0600. It can cope with E15 fuels.

I've had no problems since fitting them four years ago and my boot no longer smells of petrol!

Been using the original plastic? nylon? factory fuel hoses in the boot and from glass filter to the carb since car was new and has been running on E10 for 20 years with no issues. I suspect the split hose shown resulted from some other cause. But if changing hoses, ensure latest type are used.

We are talking about the correct slightly milky genuine Jaguar fuel pipe?

No ~ we tested some new nylon hose from Jaguar in Sasol based E10 & it fell apart. I had to learn the hard way. These are Sasol long chain alcohols that come off of their process.

Hose that has run on straight gas for many years is not similarly effected.

This good old Jaguar fuel hose is not effected. (no reports yet)

Don't let anybody tell you this is the right stuff. It is no longer.

This newer material (sold as the right stuff) will deteriorate severely with Sasol E10 and Brazilian alcohols from sugar cane. Alcohol is not just alcohol.
