Orlando,
To answer your question about plug wire bracket orientation, I can't remember why I positioned it how I did except to say that it seems to be a natural routing for the wires. Not a great answer but if I go back through my notes I may come up with a better one.
As to the E Type setup shown in your photo, that appears to be an early car as the parts bulletin A.75, 3/1962, shows the same components as the S Types. I haven't been able to find when the next change in these components took place, maybe at the introduction of the 4.2 cars, but my car which is a 1966 (Parts Manual J.37) has a slightly different clip C25127 with a bent leg and a much thicker distance piece C24795 so the clip sits in a horizontal position at the same bolt hole location. The rubber grommet is the same as the S Type.
I read that E Type forum topic you referenced and, boy, they are crazier than we are! Now I know why I don't show my car anymore. It was fun while it lasted.

The E Types seem better documented. I've had an eye on that & the Factory Fit thread for a few years now. Originally looking at coil decals etc. Trying to tie up E Type dates with S Type proved impossible. The round HT wire clip C4982 was even used on some 240's & 340's. Go figure?

Thanks for the extra info, Alan. Very interesting.

You're right there! Makes S-types owners seem almost normal.

Gents,
please read Administrator's announcement about image size.
From now on, excessively large images will be deleted.
For those of you who do not know how to resize images, it is very easy, there are Online Image Editors that you can access free.
you upload the image to the Editor and select resize. The Editor resizes the image for you, and then you Save it to your computer or phone, and then you can post it in forums.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Tom said it was optional. It does not suite some of us that have corresponded with him. Fortunately there is e mail & Jaguarforums.com.
I would also like to point out that in his recent commentary David Reilly stated & I quote ~ "The Register doesn’t belong to one person, but to all of its ‘members’ " ~ unquote.
Seems not.

Glyn,
sorry it does not suit you but that is the rule from now on.
I will be flexible as to the size of images but some are too big and they take forever to display if at all.
The forum information is for the benefit of all members but the rules are the rules and no member is allowed to circumvent them or to advise others to circumvent them. David did not say that forum members can make their own rules.
Also we need to consider that some members do not have state of the art computers or phones.
Again, it is very easy to resize images, not to mention free.

That's fine Jose. We have options which we will use. You win ~ forum loses. I'm not the only unhappy camper that wants high res photos for some things exchanged on the forum. Resizing software defeats the object by killing saturation & definition/resolution. Internet Brands (owners of Jaguarforums.com, MBWorld etc.), as an example, knows how to retain members.

This Forum does not lose anything.
This forum has been in service long before you joined.
Membership in this forum is voluntary for those who want to contribute and learn.
David did not say that members "can make their own rules". It doesn't work like that, Glyn.

This seems a very odd way to run a public forum. I've only seen one complaint about image size and that was from you, Jose. Nobody else seems to have a problem with them. So why risk losing lots of valuable contributors with a rule that only one person wants? I think I'll stop using this forum until/unless normal service is restored.

Jose's reponse to my comment...
You've only seen posted advisories from me, but I have received non-public complaints from others saying that the images don't load or that they freeze their systems. Besides, the decision was made by Tom, the Administrator. I only follow instructions from the Administrator.
The 1 megabyte rule
is the normal service per Tom's announcement. I don't "run" the forum, I moderate it.

I sent an email to Tom Hoffman two days ago asking for a copy of the announcement for posting photos on the forum, but as of today I have had no response. Has it been posted elsewhere? I can't find it.
One thing I don't get is that when I attach photos of mine in a post, and which are apparently too large or have too many pixels or something, I can see them fine on my crappy old Dell computer. What is the problem?
