Re: Refitting the chrome
I unfortunately did not photograph fitting chrome to my car but will post reference stuff I find. Most of it is easy going. If you have a sticking point we will figure it out with pics. Kit I used.

Re: Refitting the chrome
I seem to recognize most of the kit in the bag are the three brass coloured threaded ones a modification of the front door bolted N/S & O/S and the bonnet/hood one by the Jaguar motive ?. Also are the bonnet/hood side trim folding type clips in the bag as well ?.
I take this kit is from Barrett's.
Thanks again for this information Glyn saves trawling through the various part numbers if all the trim fittings come as a kit which is great nice and easy to order.

Re: Refitting the chrome
Three yellow plated T clips are for front of front door waist trims & trim piece ahead of the leaper.
All bonnet/hood folding tab clips included.
Kit is from Barratts ~ SBS1271FK
Barratts new Website is still a work in progress. If you don't know the P/N you can't find the damn thing anywhere under S Type. I've been paging back through my orders/invoices. I really wish they would leave the darn thing alone. When I made up my order listing I included part numbers & pictures of parts to make identification easier for my restorer. Thank heaven I did that. They have even changed what they call certain parts on the website.

Re: Refitting the chrome
To be honest I hate using Barratt's for exactly the reason, their web site is a waste of time for the S type not user friendly at all.
Thanks for the kit P/N that will save time.

Re: Refitting the chrome
Tread Plates ~ attached with self tapping screws.
A Pillar chrome trims ~ tab & glue in place.
Kit did not/does not include friction bushes for spears & badges. Require to be ordered individually unless this has changed. Also latest spears have been produced with threaded studs & nuts. Real dumb as they go into a blind area of the wing. No rear access. Just toss the nuts & use friction bushes as original.
Please consult the Parts Manual for correct washers at all locations as appropriate.
