The next time I pull the bushes I am going Poly. Rubber ones do not last as long these day. Apparently they have to be biodegradable due to some EU law so are not made out of the same rubber content they used to be made of. They are possibly all made in China these days despite what it says on the packet.
My last set of Radius arm bushes lasted a year and the new ones are showing signs of deterioration already after just another year and a half.

Apart from one stub axle from it's carrier (there's always something else to pinch your time, isn't there? :D ), everything's now stripped.....time for the cleanup. :)

Press gauge was registering 14 tons when the first axle decided to separate....with a mighty bang!

I don't know why but we all seem to have a photo of the front subframe broken down and laid out for reassembly.
How sad are we?

Hi all,

Finally starting to get round to reassembly. :)

Re the camber shims under the top wishbone mounts, when stripping down I found there were 4 x 1/16" shims under both the forward and rear positions of the LH mount.

On the RH mount, however, there were 4 x 1/16" shims under the forward position, but only 1 x 1/16" under the rear position.

Would this be unusual? I would have expected the same number of shims for both positions.

Stan,
As I understand it, this is normal. They are used to make everything right. Mine were off, too. Maybe someone will jump in and give the technical answer that I will not understand.
Good luck,

This sounds unusual as it would put strain on the top wishbone rubber bushies, my bet is someone has removed them in the past to do an overhaul and lost the shims.
