Joe, while you are connecting up all the final bits & pieces through the scuttle/firewall ~ make sure all the grommets, blind grommets & plugs are in good order & in place & no open bolt holes. Just one missing spoils the nice quiet cabins these cars have. You should hear a nice distant purr from the engine.

Orlando St.R wrote: Fri Aug 16, 2019 6:05 pm Just to add to Glyn's excellent explanation, the hose for the heater valve goes through the bulkhead sort of behind the heater, through the hole marked in the pic below. Ideally, there should be a grommet round it.

You will find Plate 88 in the Parts Catalogue helpful when trying to work this out.

Orlando...What goes through the hole to the left of your arrow?

I do not have a photo of that area from my strip down showing what was there but there is the rubber hose coming through the right hand hole to the vacuum switch and through the other left hand hole you have the operating cable for the hot and cold air flap in the heater box. Both have rubber grommets.
Attached is the original photo showing that area on my car at strip down showing the rubber hose but the hot/cold cable has been removed as this was part of the interior strip down.

Windows are finally done except for two screws needed on one rear window latch. By the way, while I have your attention, does anyone know what these are? See photos and thanks.

The mystery pieces quiz.
Not a clue. I can honestly say I have not seen these pieces before. I do not think I have them on my car so I would be very interested in what they are and where they go. Can you give us an idea on the size of them Joe? Do they have a thread which is covered with paper from the chroming process or are they a push fit? Do they have a square under the head so they sit in a square hole to stop them rotating if there is a nut on the other end?
Sorry more questions than answers.

Joe ~ can you give us a size reference for those pins.

Almost look like front No Draught Ventilator pivot pins.
