Moving along nicely.

I presume your engine mounting brackets look like this? A big weakness ~ I had 6 like this. Robey's found me an uncracked used set that we strengthened before fitting.

Never mind Ital's, I went on a Jaguar factory visit in the early 80's and saw the same method of getting doors to fit with planks of 4x2 on the XJ Series 3 production line. When we questioned the guys on the line about this they said the "official" term for the process was "door f**king"!

That is going to be one handsome motor car. You are achieving very good panel fit. Fortunately the dies at Pressed Steel were still in good condition in 1965.
