how exactly did you fix the headliner? did it have a fiberglass backing board?
did you have to remove the glass to remove it and replace it?

I stripped the complete interior out as I first coated the inside floor boards, sheet metal between trunk, with sound deadening paint, and Dynamat. Yes the headliner was removed and a new one installed. I had them do the entire interior which included reskinning the Vanden Plas front/rear seats, new door panels, carpet, etc. The glass was still in I believe.

Here are some updates to the car.
I upgraded the gas tank to an aluminum one with the correct Jaguar sending unit as the previous Mustang gas tank would never read the right gas level. Since that involved a lot of rear end disassembly, I was able to get another 3.8s rear end cage and related parts and did a lot of extra bracing and welding to make the cage able to handle the increased HP. I also added rear lower control arm bracing. All of those parts were powder coated and with about 90,000 miles it was good time as most of the rubber and bushings, etc. were in need of replacement.
At the same time I had always wanted to increase my train horn with a compressor and tank system but none of the kits would fit. I had a custom tank made by Dirty Works a company that specializes in motorcycle air bag systems and they made a stainless steel 3" tank with gusseted bracket so I could mount to my trunk tool storage box. The Wolo Orient Express train horn is a good match as they are efficient train horns so with 80-100 PSI they sound great and the small tank provides plenty of capacity. I also added an automotive airline port so that I can plug my 25' coiled airline hose to fill any tire with ease.
Here are some pictures and will try to post additional when I can....
Here is how those train horns sound. This Wolo 844 train horns with the upgraded air compressor can run with the smallest of tanks, less than 1 gallon with tons of capacity to use the horn over and over, this tank is only .7 gallons

Brilliant! I have a pair of Stebel Italian air horns that sound completely puny by comparison.

Orlando what is the stainless ? filter housing ? opposite your air horns I have been trying to figure out what it could be. It's looks like an auto lubrication system that use to be fitted to A.E.C. trucks in the 1960's. Is it the air horn compressor ?.
Also I must admit the train horns are something else brilliant things to have on an S type.

Yes, it's just the air horn compressor.

The Stebel horns are nice I have them on two of my sports cars.
The cool thing with the Wolo Orient Express 844 train horn is that it is designed to be very efficient since it was sold as a kit using the same direct drive compressor like what you are using with the Stebel. While that is not bad, the train horn with 4 trumpets needs more PSI to really provide a true train horn sound and be much louder. Wolo tech support confirmed that the 844 can handle 90-110 psi so with the addition of a conventional 100% duty air compressor used for train horns and air ride setups and a tiny tank less than 1 gallon will work great, I am using a .7 gallon tank but it could even be smaller and my tank is only 3" round diameter so you can get a tiny tank and finally have a train horn when you have no space for the typical 5+ gallon tanks required for all other train horns.
Here is a video that you should look at that shows my horns in action!

Hi,
You build looks awsome. Love what You have done with the car.
Im considering going into a similar project, and was wondering how you ended up fitting the wheels to the car?
Hope You are willing to share Your experience.
Thanks,
Piotr

Any good wheel or performance car shop will have the measuring tool to find out what is the maximum offset you can fit and clear your brakes, etc. I changed the front to QA1 coil overss and my wheels are 17”x8.5” with 245 wide tires on front and back
