I was going to suggest you replaced the chrome on a nice warm day so the rubber is pliable but in Arizona I doubt if there is ever a warm day just Bloody hot days! It is possibly the heat which has destroyed the rubber and will destroy the paint and the wood and the leather but at least it will never rust.lol.
Having three S Types is just greedy though but I think Glyn has three as well as he has mentioned two parts cars in the past. The best I can do is pick up job lots of spares which I am doing on Monday. I do not have the room for a second car and the price of a scrap S type which needs fully rebuilding is still north of £5000 in the UK.

Don't get any great ideas about donor cars. 2 white ones. One complete without windscreen but a total mess. The other virtually a shell with front suspension. They were a great help however.

Thanks Rob. It's unlikely either will ever go back on the road. Likely to be cut up for repair panels to save other S Types. I now have 2 spare windscreens from other donors as I fitted a new one to my car & another chap I helped gave me one. I have helped a number of people that have helped me over the years. Much spares swapping & bartering has taken place.

All that's really left now is 2 bodies, a front suspension, an engine, Moss transmission & long tail overdrive.

Have you registered the other two with David on the register to show that they were but have now sadly gone from the road?

I've told David I will give him the details of both cars once their fate is known. Chatting to a chap at present that might just save one.

They look relatively rust free compared with the rot boxes that are scrapped over here.

Glyn. If you do cut up one of those bodies there is in the spare wheel well a round metal drain plug I have been looking for without success. If you look at the Suspension Misalignment post, page three at the bottom.there is a link to Orlando's car showing the plugs missing in the spare wheel well. I have the centre one missing after it had knock at some time I have repaired the damage to the well and under tray before it went in for re-spray, but have not been able to find one of those drain plugs. The Mk 2 well is different in size I believe they are only in the S Type & 420.
I have tried to contact Robert Burston in Devon so many times without success either by phone or Email he is really difficult to contact as he may have one to purchase.
If you are prepared to let one go I will of course pay for all costs etc to send to the U.K. and for the actual part.
The new boot wells do not show them separate to purchase only complete.
Regards
Dave J.

Glyn,
Please let David or myself have the details and we can do one of two things.
1. See if it has been on the register before and update its status.
2. Create a new profile for the car and then just add into the information column that the car is scrapped.

Does not matter what the condition is as long as we know about it.

The one is fairly rusted. The other is rust free by UK standards.
