Fuel level sender ohms range?

Post by Damagecontrol87 »

Anyone happen to know the appropriate resistance on the fuel level senders? Fuel tanks are too far gone to salvage, looking at other options but would like to retain the function of the fuel level gauge.

I think it would be difficult to find other non OE tanks that would fit the unusual rear fender space properly. Have you checked with the US based salvage yards for used but serviceable tanks from an S Type or 420? Jaguar Heaven in Stockton California or Welshs in Ohio are just two possibilities if new tanks are not available from the UK. Boiling the used tanks out and then slurry coating then would give them new life and no change in sending units would be needed.

Have a look at Martin Roby's website for fuel parts. They have the sender units and most of the other parts needed for an install.

Also fuel tanks although rather expensive, when I bought a pair they were £130 each.
