I was leaking brake fluid from my reservoir after I had removed the carbs following a small fuel leak and had moved the reservoir to one side. Un be known to me at the time but I had broken the tube at the base of the plastic bottle as the plastic had become brittle. This is not the original bottle nor my first replacement as this has happened before.
I searched around on ebay and they were priced between £35 and £55 for what is essentially a water bottle that you can buy from a sports store for £1. Finally found a replacement for £30 from a seller called Jagman and fitted it over the weekend.
The old bottle has a plastic tube at the base which over time becomes brittle, any movement and it will break. I made a temp repair on mine with araldite whilst I was waiting for the new one to arrive. The new one is slightly different in that it is now fitted with a small metal sleeve inside the plastic tube and an internal gauze filter. Better quality and hopefully will not break if I have to move the reservoir to one side in the future.

Re: Brake fluid resevoir
nice looking radiator you got there!
Re: Brake fluid resevoir
Why thank you Jose. When I re-cored my radiator I found the top and bottom to be brass so left the bottom painted black but polished the top so you get that WOW factor when you open the bonnet. Originally the top would also have been painted black as a Jaguar owner was too busy to polish the radiator top and too poor to be able to employ someone to do it for him.
