Help Joe Again

Post by DevilDog »

As you all know, my chrome was clearly marked. However, the chrome shop removed all the labels so the parts could be re-chromed. They did not put the labels back on the parts. The chrome was taken off Miss Kitty four years ago when I was 64. Now I am 68 and can't remember where these parts go. So, it is time to Help Joe Again. The first picture indicates the five parts that I am trying to identify. The second picture shows the parts from the different angle. Here we go.......

Hi Joe, #1 are the rear backing plates for the fog lights. #2 looks like the chrome backing plates for the door pulls. Not sure about the other pieces- over to other members.

Number one is as Nigel said the back of the fog lights which will never be seen again once fitted. Lol.

Number two is definitely the two chrome pulls that sit inside the front door rests.

Number three four and five I will have to go and look at my car to find them. They look like sleeves with thread on the inside. Is this correct Joe?
Number five looks like the fixing screw on the speedo cable but the one that connects to the gearbox. I will have to look tomorrow for you.

Did your car have an antenna fitted?

Good spot Glyn. Mines an Auto box which is why I did not recognise that one.
I think you might be right on four and five as well. They do look like the part of the radio aerial which sits on the top of the wing.

Yes, I have an antenna. #3 has threads. #4 does not. #5 has threads. Understand where #2 goes....thanks. If #3 is the gear lever boot ferrule, then what is this?

3 goes on the top of the gear lever leather boot. Your pic above is the gear lever cone that screws up against the round knob to lock it in place.

Thanks Glyn......it looks like #4 and #5 are for the antenna. I zoomed in the best I could on my photos and it looks like they go there. I really appreciate the help. I think all the chrome has been identified if I am correct on #4 and #5.
