Yes! As you already know, Nigel.

10 S-types is the most I've seen in one place since the 50th anniversary in 2013. Apart from Nigel's and the Guv'nor, here are the ones I spotted.

The Old English White one, JDL 590F, was part of David Marks' teach-in on compact saloons.

S Types at Blenheim

these were the cars spotted at the show, the first two are Orlando's and mine. Getting there was not without the odd problem as mine had the ignition warning light on and no charge from the alternator within the first mile, this miraculously cleared while sitting in the lay-by trying to diagnose the problem. Orlando had the clevis pin fall out of his brake peddle leaving him with no brakes, he put it back and made it to the show and I had some stiff wire on board to act as a split pin.

Getting in was not without issues for many of the cars with a two mile queue to park up with a few cars overheating sitting by the wayside, my Kenlow fan and the new oil cooler fan did their jobs well on my car with no problems. Coming home was a bit of a saga when I accidentally dumped seven liters of diesel into my left tank while filling up! Fortuitously my wife spotted the error and shouted to me to stop. As the tank still was half full with petrol and topping it up with supper unleaded it ran OK with a bit of pinking going up the hills. I think the sun had got to me - never done that before!

Thanks so much for coming to the rescue on that. I'm sure if you took all those tools out of your car, you could add a few mpg.

But, what with the ignition warning and the diesel, you do seem to have had a bit of a day of it. I must say, I was pretty weary after four hours driving and probably half an hour in queues.

Nigel ~ just a belt & bracers approach. Check to make sure that the engine oil level has not risen in your sump. Petrol engines cannot combust diesel properly & it can wash down past the rings into the sump oil. Hopefully your cocktail was insufficient for this to occur. You don't want engine oil diluted by diesel.

Thanks for,that Glyn, I checked the oil level this morning and it hasn't moved from leaving home yesterday after doing 170 miles so hopefully everything is ok.

Hi Nigel. Pleased to meet you at Blenheim and thanks for posting the super photos. Wish I’d spotted the one with the deflector on his Webasto (mine was the black GRX200C) so I could see what I’m looking for.
I was weary too after 280 miles, the car is really comfortable but it’s the wind noise at 70mph which is wearing, but the car behaved superbly.
