Handbrake cable removal

Post by Markunderwood »

Hello all,
I now have the rear suspension unit removed although I cannot understand how to disconnect the handbrake cable at the caliper connection. The steel cable covering does not turn or unscrew. It looks like there is a pin to remove but unable to get anything on it to see if it moves. Pics attached. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I remember no issue here ~ remove split pin & withdraw clevis pin and so on as described below. Maybe someone else could comment. Download & expand if needed.

From what I remember when I did my rebuild the cable just pulls out of the caliper arm, the cable has a stepped shoulder that locates in the swivel fitting.
