LOL! :D Definitely! I was so determined to have a Jag that did not do an impersonation of the Torrey Canyon. Last minor leak detected was at the new speedo angle drive so out came the drive capsule for a new O Ring. My efforts are likely futile. Next leak I will leave on the basis that all Jags must have at least one leak & hopefully others will not follow. Think I must buy a drip pan for the garage floor that thusfar is clean.

BTW ~ at least not having a BW transmission helps a little.

I'm sure that my Borg Warner leaks are the reason my car is still with us! I have two large drip trays on my garage floor.

1965 was the year that most S type were built, curiously most of which were built in 1964 to be sold as 1965 models.

my 1984 XJ-6 was built in June 1983. First sold and registered in September 1984. Original price was $54 thousand dollars US. Pretty hefty price considering that today these supercars are worth so little.

My engine block was only cast in 1965 so my car had to be built after that. No 3 or 4 off the line at CDA. Blocks were cast in the UK & machined in SA.

Yeah ~ with UK climatic conditions some oil protecting the bodywork is no bad thing. I remember the days that UK car owners pumped Waxoil into every body cavity regularly. I've done sills, doors, bonnet, bootlid, under trim etc. on my car with Tectyl.
