Re: Steel (hub-cap) wheels
I think I've found some good s/h steels (four hours away, but before Christmas I hope) and they don't have embellisher rings so I would love to be in contact about them, Cass.

Steel (hub-cap) wheels
I am considering reversing the process of spoked wheels having been added to one of my S types (they were added about 30 years into the car's life) but would quite like to go new or refurbished rather than second-hand. But in any case, other than Ebay, I don't know where to look to find them. I am i...

Re: Suspension misalignment
I really do not think the installation of the rack & pinon system would have any effect on the fore and aft wheel relation to the fender wheel opening. It does not change the A frames upper or lower or the upright that the stub axle attaches to. It certainly did not on my car when I had the R &...

Re: Suspension misalignment
Has someone messed with your subframe mounting? Quite possibly, but probably before I owned the car I think. Extensive work had been carried out 'underneath' by a very reputable firm and, more recently, I have had some work done on the power steering—including r&p conversion. So how would I/a g...

Re: Suspension misalignment
At the risk of obsessing about this matter, I have recently corrected the 1/2 inch low on the LH (driver side) front of my 3.8S which after 170K miles has all its original springs. I found on the internet these hard rubber spacers and being quite inexpensive, ordered a set. I think it's quite easy ...

Re: Automatic choke
Looking through the existing threads, on this site and others, there does not appear to be any comment regarding voltage drop when starting. By the very nature of the AEC unit it is powered up initially when the starter motor is used. Norman I am interested by this as I am not very good technically...

Re: Automatic choke
This is very helpful, thank you. I am about to see if, with the assistance of a technical friend (I am not technical) I can install some sort of manual system like this. It is timely as the choke is not coming on at all in this UK heat, yet the engine clearly needs some help to get going. Starting a...

Re: Suspension misalignment
… and mine is correct at the front and two inches lower at the back. Hmmm.
