Re: Clutch issue
Finally managed to get some time on the car. Cleaned out the slave cylinder as that seemed a little sticky, but my thanks go to John and Nigel for identifying the hose at the rear of the cylinder head as a likely suspect.....couldn't probe the bore with even .030" wire. New hose fitted, fluid r...

Re: Clutch issue
Thanks John, that's a good call.
I'm hoping to get under the car over the weekend to get a plan of action.
Cheers, Stan

Re: Clutch issue
Thanks Bob,
Not had a good look over the system yet......I'm waiting until a mate of mine is free to act as pedal pusher while I'm under.
I did replace the slave about 8 years ago, but I'm fairly sure the master is original so could do with some investigation anyway.
Cheers, Stan

Re: Rear seat belt anchor eye bolts.
Hi Dave, It's a good few years ago, so my memory's a bit hazy, but hopefully some of the following will be of use. :) Front Belts There are 2 chromed eyebolt anchors plus one chromed top bracket per belt. I didn't replace the original eybolts but they just screw in with out lockwashers. FDTS supplie...

Re: Manual steering box inner column oil seal replacement
No problem Dave, The link to the input seal on my original post no longer works, as the ebay item's expired. It's available again here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/W11207525R21-NBR-Nitrile-Rotary-Shaft-Oil-Seal-Lip-Seal-0-7500x1-1250x0-2500-/283414398079 For reference, it's a nitrile rotary lip seal,...

Re: Manual steering box inner column oil seal replacement
Hi Dave, Probably too late to be of use, but there's a bit of info here, halway down the page, from when I rebuilt the box. http://www.jagstyperegister.com/forum_new/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=114&start=30 I found this write up useful: http://jaguar240.blogspot.com/2011/02/steering-box.html Stan

Re: What have you just done with your S Type.
Fitted the new HT leads (7mm copper core) with new plug caps....only to find a misfire under load. I've refitted the original leads......and all seems fine. What a pain - and that's not the work of a moment, either. Are you still on the original distributor and points? If so, you might have ...
