Fuel tank changeover switch

Does anyone know if/where I can get a replacement dashboard tank switch? I suspect mine has a bad connection. A good used one will do.

Re: forthcoming MOT changes in the UK

One way of looking at it is that you stand more chance of your car passing its MoT if it has been properly and regularly serviced. There is clearly some overlap, so the questions to ask would be does the service include checking for corrosion, brake efficiency (on the same rollers used for the MoT) ...

Re: forthcoming MOT changes in the UK

Hi John bit of a minefield this as illustrated by the government's recent backtrack on new cars (which means the first MoT remains at 3 years old not 4 as was proposed). I would argue that a "full service" does not include all the checks in the scope of the MoT. Usually a garage will descr...

Re: Interior Wood Trim Removal

Don't know if this works for US residents but there are a couple of guys in the UK who will refurb or supply an exchange set for around £800. I decided to amuse myself by going to night school to learn furniture restoration. Interestingly I found that a heat gun gently applied made removal of the ol...

Heater matrix replacement

Mine has sprung a leak and of course our more refined S Types have a different matrix from the Mk2, with the pipes on the same side. Has anyone found a supplier or better still an alternative that would fit with or without modification? If not I'll see if mine can be repaired or re-cored. Regards, C...

Crankcase Ventilation

My car has a PCV stamped to the effect that it meets California emissions standards for 1963. I'm told all cars had that regardless of market, but I wonder if there is any benefit in removing it, or any potential harm in keeping it. As far as I can tell the PCV has a valve in it that reacts to crank...

Re: Should I ditch the oil cooler?

It is off! And now I can see that the fitting is by way of an adaptor on the filter head, so I should be able to remove this and retain the canister filter. Don't see any point in upgrading to a spin off filter in tha case.

Re: P1B58945DN - LYD707E Restoration - help wanted

Hi Fernando

I'm happy to come to Spain and give you some practical help and lots of moral support! It would be great if you could follow the restoration manual and put a Mk2 front end on an S Type.

Regards
Chris
