Re: Four Position Switch Wiring Confusion
On my switch the brown ring with ears appears to be made of fiber, so it is the resistor type. In looking at the past threads about the shift nacelle lamps, it appears my resistor has built up over time and they bypassed it by running the nacelle light (black/red) off of the red/black feed. But what...

Four Position Switch Wiring Confusion
Hello Everyone, I need some help in figuring out the wiring for my 1965 3.8 S (the Wayne Carini car). In checking out a burned out foglamp, the foglamp wiring behind the dash and under the hood began smoking badly and the ammeter went to a full discharge indication. I stopped everything in time, but...

Re: Scuttle Vent Closing with Heater Switch On
Thank you Rob, you saved the day! :D I've been sitting here at work all morning trying to figure out why it was working that way. That makes perfect sense, especially after looking at a diagram of the vacuum circuit coming off of the heater controls. Other than my confusion, the vacuum works great o...

Re: Scuttle Vent Closing with Heater Switch On
Ah! It is starting to make sense now! I guess where the issue lies is why the vent flap closes when Heat is pressed. When Air is pressed in, the flap pops up like new. As soon as I press Heat, the flap drops again as if I pressed Off. Maybe it is the switch cluster?

Scuttle Vent Closing with Heater Switch On
I've got yet another question (my new 1965 car needs a lot of TLC), is the scuttle vent supposed to open when the heater button is pushed? The other day I decided to switch on the heater but when I pressed the vacuum switch for heat the vent wouldn't open. Now, the vent opens when I press the fresh ...

Re: E-Type Steering Wheel Retrofit
Glyn, Thank you so much for providing me with the correct boss model, I was beginning to think it wasn't possible to fit the E-Type wheel. I have an aftermarket Tourist Trophy wheel on it now (came with the car, the original wheel is long gone), but the horn push doesn't work and the wheel looks a b...

E-Type Steering Wheel Retrofit
Good Afternoon Everyone, Is it possible to fit an E-Type wooden steering wheel and boss in the 3.8 S? I've seen a few images of them fitted to the Coombs Mk2s and a 420, so I'm wondering if the column splines are the same. I've always loved the look of the OEM E-Type wheel and the checkerboard horn ...

Re: My New S-Type: P1B77802BW
Thank you all so much for your warm welcomes and support for a young Jag enthusiast! :D Sorry I haven't been here in a while, the car actually spent three months at the mechanic due to a power steering leak (typical) and leaking transmission. They ended up rebuilding the transmission, everything shi...

Re: My New S-Type: P1B77802BW
Thank you Glyn! Yes, this is the very same car, I actually caught that episode by accident a few days after I bought the car. You can imagine the pleasant surprise when I saw the same car on the show! The car just needs a bit of cosmetic work and tuning to be perfect, but other than that it ha...

My New S-Type: P1B77802BW
Hello Everyone! I am a 28 year old classic Jaguar enthusiast, and here is my new-to-me 1965 3.8 S, chassis P1B77802BW. I recently had the rear brakes gone through, and a new alloy radiator and electric cooling fan installed to combat the Los Angeles heat. I'll definitely ask plenty of questions whil...
