Re: Cooling system refresh advice

Have the sleeved thermostat. Pulled off the housing and it was quite corroded. So a little delay as I wait for the housing. Also ordered a new belt and the studs that the housing was held on with. Those were looking a bit iffy. When I tried to open the drain tap on the engine block it was frozen shu...

Re: Cooling system refresh advice

Thank you Rob, Had not considered a few points you raised. Easy advice and am going to take it.. Will order those motor mounts tonight to add to the list of jobs for this go round. Orlando, No problems. Looking at these as consumables. Any of them going out on a road trip can damage the engine so wa...

Cooling system refresh advice

Hi Gang,

Time for the next project. Refurbishing or replacing the radiator, water pump, thermostat, radiator cap, and hoses. Any tips or advice before I jump into it?

Re: Seat Belt Mounting holes

This is great, another lead. We are using Gliptone cleaner and conditioner. The website in the USA is quite different. There are none of the advice pages or dye being listed, only paint which I will not use. My ten year old said that the leather felt like stale bread when we first got the car. Now i...

Re: Seat Belt Mounting holes

Hi Dave, Thanks for the information. Kids and I returned from a few days away on Saturday. Today we pulled out the rear seats and installed the seat belts. Was a lot of fun doing it with the kids. We first conditioned the leather while the seats were out. Then did a good cleaning, found the plugs an...

To share with the kids

Hi Gang, In December of last year it was decided that we were going to get a fun car. My kids, a 12 year old daughter and 10 year old son, and I were trying to agree on what to get. Was much more difficult to find a car that we all agreed on than I ever expected. Daughter wanted something that was c...

Thank you for the picture Glyn. I wanted to buy this car when it was first offered for sale. I missed out. It came up again and I did get it.

Seat Belt Mounting holes

Hi Gang, Am getting ready to put rear seat belts in my car. Read the archives and found a great posting on installing them. There is supposed to be the mountings already in the car. Took out the rear seat and for the life of me I cannot find them. Maybe I am looking in the wrong places. Do all S-Typ...

Re: P1B79583DN '66 FS/Auction

Thank you all for the welcome. This was just the type of car we were looking for. My kids, 12 year old daughter and 10 year old son, and I were looking for a fun car. We spent a good deal of time finding one we all could agree on. One day I pointed out a MKII to the kids and they loved it. I prefer ...

420 front Suspension

Hi Gang, Am new to the S-Type. Purchased it just a couple of weeks ago, it is a 1966. Looking at the registry and I found my car. It has in the registry that the front suspension has been changed to that of a 420. Looking through the books I have is a bit confusing. Some list the difference between ...
