I bought mine about twenty five years ago and is okay.

I have been disappointed in Moto Lita quality in recent years. A number of local restorers feel the same way.

My wheel is riveted.

Yes ~ There is some risk but I've seen Nardi's come out of accidents well. It's a lot stronger than an E Type wheel. Only some Moto Lita's are riveted.

Nice wheel Glyn, but I was warned off that design sometime back as if in an accident the wood splits, it turns the splinters into spears at chest height. The Motalita's are riveted all the way round holding it all together.

Yeah ~ it's very personal. I fit under my wood rim more easily LOL! I have only test fitted. The car has the standard wheel in place presently. I don't like any of the Moto Lita wheels.

I like the skinny steering wheel. . It reminds me I am driving a 55-year-old car. To my mind, none of the wood-rim alternatives looks quite right.

Neither am I.

Cured this problem by wrapping the steering wheel in 6mm red rope. Really needs 8 mm. Then I soaked a slightly smaller steering wheel glove in water overnight. Fitted the glove over the red roped steering wheel and finished off by sewing it up in red thread. Once the glove dries it tightens up and allows the rope to form finger grips. A cheap but effective way of overcoming the problem.

The result makes driving a pleasure and the steering wheel now has small finger grips and some feel. Not the first time I have done this, even on trucks, and it helps when you have no power steering.
