Hi Mark, I presume you are thinking of using XK's Power Kit, LHD - 14-4001. It looks lile it uses the original dynamo as fitted to the power steering models. If you don't have one of those then you will have to find one and the pump fitted to the rear of it. I see XK's sell a A.C. Delco item that has a pump take off but at a cost of $700. The steering column on the S Types are the cast type and not easy to weld, it will have to be sleeved then welded.
Watjag in the UK sell a complete kit to convert to power steering using an electric pump with an uprated alternator for about £1700 (They offer LHD) IMHO this would be a better way to go, you still have to chop the column though.
