that is a definate 'no no'

Absolutely. I rebuilt my original & OD for a fraction of that.

Nice but for £6500 you can get your own original gearbox and overdrive rebuilt and have enough left over to rebuild about three other gearboxes belonging to members on here. Not that I need it but I would still stand in line for the handout.

has anyone converted their gearbox to a later 5 speed ?
if so what is involved including costs?
